Why do city people always talk sh*t about country people?

Why do city people always talk sh*t about country and suburban people? Why do they always give them a hard time and question them for living in any place other than the city? As if the city was the center of the world and that there's no reason to live or venture anywhere else outside of a city? Why do they feel the need to justify that they are somehow smarter, superior, and better off living in the city and show no respect to people that prefer the suburbs and country life?
